I have worked with skin for over 20 years, trained in Budapest and now in Midtown Manhattan. Cold plasma is one of the few treatments I add to my protocols because it is effective, gentle, and needs very little downtime. It is especially good for sensitive skin.
What Is Cold Plasma?
Plasma is ionized argon gas, the fourth state of matter. A controlled electrical field energizes the gas, and cold plasma reaches the skin's surface without heat damage, needles or cutting. It produces reactive oxygen and nitrogen species and a light electrical stimulus. Research suggests these reduce acne-causing bacteria, calm inflammation, and prompt the skin to repair itself.
Why It Is Good for the Skin
- It is gentle on sensitive skin. There is no harsh peeling, abrasion or aggressive heat, so reactive skin tolerates it well.
- It reduces bacteria. Plasma has an antimicrobial effect, which is why it works so well on acne-prone skin.
- It calms inflammation. Redness and irritation settle, which matters for rosacea.
- It helps skin recover. Cold plasma supports the skin's own healing and collagen activity, so skin becomes healthier and better able to recover from damage and inflammation.
- It protects the barrier. The skin stays strong while it renews.
Who Benefits Most
Cold plasma is especially good for sensitive skin, acne and rosacea. It also helps congested, dull or uneven skin.
Where I Treat
Face, neck, scalp and hair area, and body.
Your Session
Each session is 30 minutes. You will feel gentle warmth and a light tingle, and some pinkness afterward that settles quickly. Most of my clients see a visible result after the first treatment. Some skin concerns need a few sessions, and I will always tell you honestly what your skin needs. Results vary from person to person.
